iMediate

The wise, not so wise and even the fish in a pond has an opinion about WS mediation. Now the question is who do you think is saying the right thing. If you talk about the sharks, its more ESBish, well, there you go; we are listening to the TIBCOs of the market. It turns BPELish once Oracle takes a bite or pure plumbing if the adapter makers wink; Aqual(ogic)ang if Tull could dig his flute to it, BEAish. Climbing the OSI ladder a bit to the network and why not.

I guess it's all about, the integration Market is fading, the adapters are all done, the DB space is more or less stagnant, the applications servers have done their bit so here I am, eons (AONs) of experience, money in the bank, so who is going to pay my next check!!!

Be hold!! Spot the Jurassic killer and stop there!! Think for a moment and write down on a piece of paper what your company really needs.
Mediation is certainly not a new concept but the difference is in how and what you mediate.

Mediocrity Day

The night lamp flickered in one small tiny room in some remote corner of the city, the dark and serene walls stood still at times reflecting the shadows of the insects which were drawn by the lamp. Little did they know that the flames could end their meaningless life; Meaningless? The words suddenly magnified before me a letter at a time, I sat there wondering was it mocking at me? I tried to erase the thought and looked away but little did I know I was face to face with mediocrity.

Well, that’s contrary to how one would perceive it, at least the common stock. But the fact remains that mediocrity is what a peaceful/meaningless life is all about. Would you call that mediocrity? Or a passé that over time has come to represent the wannabe thriving or masquerading under a white collared job or something - just to feel special. Nothing wrong with fooling yourself once in a while but to do it often is a bit of an over-kill.

The lamp still illuminated the surroundings and the insects did their best to make their way to their end. Or was it a beginning? Maybe the other life, if there was one, would be as bright as their end. Or was it another new beginning of a mediocre next life? - that is if you believe there is one!

Whatever, I still felt that I was doing a great job living life for how it was meant to be lived.

But to think of it mediocrity is relative, it depends on how you look at it. I remember feeding our fishes. The moment I went near the aquarium the fishes came toward me, if I moved to the other end of the aquarium they followed. Was it my magnetic personality or was it the food that they were following? Your guess is as good as mine.

If you lived to be 60, you have already slept for 20 years or even more! So I guess its time to wake up and accept mediocrity and be the good father, husband, maybe a grandfather or whatever that suits you. Hang a picture of the likes of Einstein/Picasso read a bit about relativity/cubism (don't expect an epiphany , but still you can say you read it) Maybe it would help you to understand your relatives better, you never know or cut the cheese cubes neatly.

Did anyone say anything about a mediocrity day? The Lamp still glows just that there is a new kid in the block.
